Six Month Smiles
About Six Month Smiles
Six Month Smiles is a cosmetic orthodontic solution that allows you to have straight teeth in about six months (typically four to nine months) by using custom made clear braces and focusing on the teeth that show when you smile. At the completion of treatment a retainer may be required to keep your teeth in their new position.
While Six Month Smiles is a very conservative treatment system (much less invasive than having crowns or veneers) the changes you will see from month to month will be dramatic. Typically in four to nine months you can have straight teeth.
This is a unique cosmetic option for adult patients who don’t want comprehensive orthodontic treatment – either because of the length of time (2 +) years or the appearance of metal braces. Six Month Smiles technology offers a life changing service to adults who previously believed they had no hope or realistic options for improving their smiles.
The Six Month Smiles system uses unique, clear Lucid – Lok® brackets and tooth – colored wires to
gently straighten and align teeth into more desirable positions.
It is very aesthetically pleasing.

Before & Afters
Who is a candidate for the Six Month Smiles system?
Six Month Smiles is a cosmetically focused treatment. It is primarily for adults who are unhappy with the appearance of their smiles and do not want to undergo comprehensive orthodontics. With the system, we address crooked, misaligned and spaced teeth.
Most patients with crowding or spacing problems are candidates, with the most common cases being patients with crowded or misaligned teeth.
The Six Month Smiles System is NOT a substitute for comprehensive orthodontics.
There are patients for whom the Six Month Smiles System is usually not the most appropriate option. These include:
- Children under the age of 15 years
- Patients who would see a significant cosmetic benefit by undergoing comprehensive orthodontics
- Patients needing an ‘overbite’ corrected
- Patients who want their facial profile changed
- Patients with active dental or periodontal disease with significant bone loss
- Patients wanting a perfect orthodontic result
