Your First Visit with Dr. Mark Peddey

PATIENT INFORMATION

Dentistry in Elwood welcome New Patients and we invite you to refer your friends and family to our care.

At your first visit you can expect:

• an introduction to our team
• a thorough dental examination requiring participation from you
• a discussion of your expectations
• an explanation of your diagnosis and treatment options

Normally an initial appointment is about us getting to know each other and performing a comprehensive oral health examination We usually arrange in advance for you to arrive at this appointment with a set of current dental records We arrange for you to have some of these taken before coming to see us.

A complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day So that we can care for you responsibly please assist us if you have a medical condition (i.e diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) We will require a brief medical history from you and a list of your current medical prescriptions We will also require the contact details of your cardiologist.

Usually treatment will not be performed on that same day unless you have made an appointment for urgent dental attention or to have a specific procedure If this happens to be the case we will ensure this is managed before you leave the surgery.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.
